Linked by a Common Thread is an initiative inspired by two Newport businesses, The Picture Shop and Gallery and ZigZags. This Blog (originally presented as a paper leaflet) is researched and written by Maggie Hollinshead of The Picture Shop and Gallery.

We invite you to take a trip around Newport,
enjoy our historic Market Town and visit a wide range of independent shops.
Within this Blog you will find some lovely places to visit in the town.
There is much more to see, including lots
of other shops, but it is hoped that by using the information here you will be able to find omewhere to park for free (Sat Nav TF10 7AX) and take a pleasant stroll around, visiting each of our shops. You will be able to find a venue either for lunch/afternoon tea or just a pot of tea/coffee. You will also discover some new places for yourself.
To complete your visit you are sure to enjoy a
visit to Waitrose, one of our local supermarkets
and then Mere Park Garden Centre on the A41. Both of these larger businesses have joined
with us to promote shopping in Newport

Newport

Newport is a pleasant Shropshire market town
situated close to the Staffordshire border. It is near to major road networks and beautiful countryside. Within easy reach there are a number of places to visit, including Weston Park, Boscobel House (EH), Wightwick Manor (NT), Ironbridge and it’s museums, Much Wenlock and Bridgnorth to name but a few.

Whether you are visiting the area for a day,
a weekend or a short break, there is plenty for you to see and something for all interests and tastes.
